    Brief Bio
    Dr Amine Lekmiti is a Lecturer in Research Principles and Methodologies at KOI Newcastle. He holds a joint PhD in Marketing from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Leisure and Tourism Hospitality from the University of Newcastle, Australia. His PhD research focused on tracking changes in Australia's destination image during the COVID-19 pandemic using a big data analytics approach. Dr Lekmiti has teaching and marking experience at the University of Newcastle in the Digital and Social Media Marketing and The Future of Work courses. His research expertise includes marketing technology, destination marketing, market research, consumer insights, and big data analytics applications in marketing and tourism. He has received several academic awards and scholarships, including the Best Research Poster Award at the University of Newcastle HDR Festival (2024), the University of Newcastle International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (UNIPRS) (2023–2025), and the University of Newcastle Research Scholarship (UNRS Central) (2023–2025). In addition to his academic experience, Dr Lekmiti brings industry experience in business control, commercial analysis, marketing, and hospitality across Algeria, Malaysia, and Australia.
