Brief Bio
Dr Md Arafat Mahmud obtained his PhD in Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney in 2018. Following that, he worked at the College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics, the Australian National University (ANU) as a postdoctoral research fellow for 2.5 years. Since 2020, he has been working as a research fellow at the Faculty of Science, the University of Sydney (USYD). Prior to his PhD, Dr Mahmud completed his M.Sc and B.Sc degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and worked as a Lecturer at the Department of EEE at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP), Bangladesh for 2 years. He also has 3 years of teaching experience as a casual academic at UNSW, Sydney where he taught 4 undergraduate and postgraduate level courses. He is also working as a casual lecturer at Sydney Metropolitan Institute of Technology (Sydney Met) as a casual lecturer. He has joined King’s Own Institute as a casual lecturer in 2025.Publications
