    Syed Abbas Zaidi is the author of Two and a Half Words and Other Stories (short stories), Land Below the Wasteland (a collection of short stories), The Infidels of Mecca (novel), and Language Shift: Sociolinguistic Lives of Two Punjabi Generations in Brunei Darussalam (sociolinguistics), and several research papers. He has worked as a reporter, sub-editor, columnist, and feature writer. He has published over 500 journalistic pieces (features, reviews, editorials, etc.)
