Brief Bio
Dr Mohammad Monjurul Hoque has joined at King's Own Institute (KOI) as a Lecturer in Business & Management. He is a passionate academic, research, and management professional with over 20 years of extensive industry experience in Australia, Malaysia, and Bangladesh. Dr Monjur obtained his PhD in Economics from the University Putra Malaysia (UPM) as a Commonwealth Scholar, Master of Economics from the University of Sydney (USYD) as an ADB Scholar, M. Com in Finance and B. Com (Honours) in Finance from the University of Dhaka. Moreover, he gained extensive professional development exposures from Australia, UK, Japan, Italy, and South Korea. Dr Monjur has developed an impressive track record as a Business Lecturer and Unit Coordinator at Victoria University Sydney, MIT Sydney, Polytechnic Institute of Australia, and several others university campuses across Sydney in the last 12 years. In this capacity, he has progressively developed and extensively applied an updated set of knowledge and skills in teaching and research in the field of business, economics and finance that influences, motivates, and inspires students to engage and learn. In his previous position, as a Deputy Director at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre with the Government of Bangladesh, Dr Monjur led economic and financial management, research, and training teams, and directly advise and liaise with multidisciplinary agencies across the Government of Bangladesh, industry stakeholders, and international development partners for over 15 years. Where he gained invaluable practical knowledge, skills, and experience in economic and financial management, research, and training. He advised the Government and industries on various economic and business development policy and policy reform process as part of collaborative approaches with various governmental agencies, industry stakeholders and international development partners. Dr Hoque has authored and co-authored several research and publications in high quality journals in economics and finance.
