    Dr Yeon Kim is an economist and senior lecturer at King’s Own Institute (KOI). He has 25 years of rich experience and subject matter expertise in academic and scholarly activities, domestic and international (trade and market access) economic policies, economic research and modelling analysis, and capacity building projects with a focus on Asia-Pacific countries. Over his career path, Dr Kim has demonstrated strong professional leadership, constructive and productive collaboration, co-ordination and negotiation skills in implementing a range of tasks.

    Prior to joining academia, Dr Kim worked as a senior official in the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) in the field of international trade and market access. He was Director of Agricultural trade team in the department’s key policy research group. He represented Australian government in various international events like OECD Policy Evaluation Model (PEM) Experts Workshop, ASEAN Trade Policy Modelling Workshop, APEC International Symposium, and others. In the earlier period of his career, Dr Kim also worked in the Department of the Treasury, being part of Macroeconomic Group dealing with a range of national economic affairs. Dr Kim holds PhD degree in economics from the Australian National University (ANU).
