This elective subject explores the field of teaching English for specific purposes (ESP) in a variety of settings, including Business English, Occupational English and English for Academic Purposes (EAP). After examining current issues in ESP syllabus design such as needs analysis, developing learning objectives, evaluating and creating materials, selecting teaching methods and evaluation, students will design an ESP course for their chosen specialisation, evaluate and create materials for a specific purpose and present their course to their peers.
