KOI RESPONSE TO COVID-19
WHAT WE HAVE DONE
- Moved temporarily to online learning delivery with live interactive lectures and tutorials
- Provided student support and counselling services using zoom meetings
- Suspended or cancelled all inessential on-campus events, gatherings and activities
- Reduced operating hours for the onsite library services with limited student numbers at any one time in place
- Adhered to and promoted social distancing principles (Physical distancing for coronavirus)
- Ceased all international and domestic work-related travel for staff until further notice.
- Increased onsite cleaning
- Introduced mandatory temperature checks across all 3 KOI locations
- Promoted good hygiene using Government advice
- Introduced a QR code for contact tracing in each location
- Installed contact less hand sanitizing stations in all 3 KOI locations
- Installed protection screen for frontline staff at the reception and library
- Continued KOI services and functions by supporting staff to work remotely
- Conducted a virtual graduation (19th Graduation)
WHAT WE ARE DOING
- Launched online enrolment from Trimester 2 2020
- Offered COVID-19 Student Financial Support Package (extended payment plan) to provide financial assistance to students in need to continue studies in Trimester 2 2020.
- Face to face orientations abiding by the social distancing principles as well as online orientations for students currently onshore and offshore
- Responding swiftly to Government advice and directions as required
- Keeping the KOI community informed of important developments
- Weekly Senior Executive Group (SEG) meeting are held to discuss any potential scenarios and impacts to ensure the safety of our students and staff
- Providing support and counselling services where needed to students who are impacted by coronavirus
- KOI is registered as a COVID Safe business – NSW Government QR code in use at all three locations
- Personalised email support and a WhatsApp Group response team for any online learning support for offshore students
WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO
- Engage fully in Online Classes, ask for help if you are unable to connect to online classes by emailing to onlinelearning@koi.edu.au
- Send suggestions about help that you need or improvements you would like to seniorexecutive@koi.edu.au
- Continue to follow good hygiene practices and follow social distancing principles
- Keep up to date with information from Australian Government Department of Health
- If you are on-campus, follow the COVID-19 rule by getting temperature tested and completing the contact tracing form using the QR code on each premises
- If you are feeling unwell seek medical advice and let staff in KOI Reception (if you’re a student) or your manager (if you’re staff) know
- If you were on campus and have been tested or tested positive for coronavirus or have had direct contact with someone who has a confirmed case of coronavirus, please email your details to studentserv@koi.edu.au
